Giving to The Price Center

A donation to the Price Center is more than a contribution to a worthy program or a vulnerable individual. It's often a life-changing gift to an entire family contending with the demands of disability. Your support funds essential programs and services for individuals living with developmental disabilities. But it also offers respite, peace of mind and the opportunity to make a living to the loved ones who care for them.

The Giving Connection: The Maguires

For Caroline and Michael Maguire, The Price Center’s Newton Day Habilitation program is not simply a good cause. It’s a family partner—and an essential resource.

“The Price Center has really been a godsend to our entire family,” as Caroline puts it.

Caroline’s twin brother Matt suffered a debilitating head injury at the age of 11. For many years, Matt, now age 34, lived at home, cared for full-time by his parents. “I don’t think we realized how difficult it was for my Mom to provide that kind of care 24/7,” says Caroline.

In 2005, Matt began attending the Newton Day Habilitation program. “My Mom says it’s the best place on earth for people with Matt’s care needs,” according to Caroline, who now lives in Carmel, Indiana, with her husband and two young children.

“I miss Matt, and I love being able to support him even though I live 1,000 miles away,” she explains. “The best way I know to do that is by financially supporting the place that helps him thrive.”

“Matt’s care demands a lot from my parents,” Caroline notes, “and as they are getting older, knowing that Matt gets such excellent care at The Price Center is a real comfort and a gift to all of us.”

The Maguire family is not alone. Nearly 200 individuals and families are served by The Price Center each year. Our residential, day habilitation and employment programs are touching more people than ever. Your contribution to The Price Center makes a direct impact on the lives of people facing the challenges of Matt and his family.
